as promised, some sketches! TVR stuff from a while ago

So, we did a bunch of sketches a couple of years ago for a consortium looking at making a move on TVR but as all of these consortiums it ran up against a brick wall. Shame, think as car enthusiast we should just start a campany called RTV and do it in the spirit of TVR? Anyway here are a couple of the sketches. It was my first attept at sketching straight to a cintiq. came out pretty well i think.

So…its been a while!

So, its been a while, we are still here but like too many good blogs out there we have been really busy. One of the things we have been busy doing is updating our new website which is now live so check that out. We have also been busy developing our concept tyre design service which has landed us on the cover of the European Rubber Journal. Kinda big in the world of rubber…kinky. We have also been working hard getting the gumsaver brush to production which has the potential to help millions of people. So its a long winded way of saying sorry there will be more bitching sketches up soon.

Insulin Injector

So far our blog has focused mainly on transport design work. We are going to reset that balance over the coming months. First off is some work that we undertook for a company looking at Insulin pens and diabetes in various markets. We have a little insider knowledge here as Rob has been a type 1 diabetic for 6 years.

The main focus was to develop a concept that added some form of desirability to the Insulin Injector. After all diabetics carry the pen with them as much as a smart phone or MP3 player so why shouldn’t it have the same type of aesthetic value. Adding aesthetic value also  helps break down the embarrassment and stigma that some users feel when having to carry and use their pen everyday.

Anyway check out some of our ideas below and watch this space for more product related images and projects.

Syd Mead

Syd Mead is one of the most iconic designers and futurists and has been an inspiration to many great designers in all genres. Along with Mead, Daniel Simon and his work (VW advanced design, Cosmic motors, Tron Legacy to name a few) has inspired the ideas that we have when looking for a creative outlet. Both have a sense of fun and a sprawling unchecked imagination that is sadly lacking in some design studios. Check out some of our futurist inspired doodles.

Thomas Heatherwick Rocks…well..seeds actually

This is the new British pavilion at the Shanghai Expo 2010. It’s designed by Heatherwick Studios run by the awesome Thomas Heatherwick. Full marks to the UK for allowing such an innovative and special building to be built. For more info see http://www.heatherwick.com/uk-pavilion/

3D gaming headset

The idea was to look at emerging 3D technology and how it might create new products…maybe a bit too ‘halo’ but..

Sketching through the ages

Some up-to-date images. These seem to be the first interiors that I have posted! which is odd as I like designing interiors and many people don’t. As you will have noticed all of these sketches have been of vehicles. I have quite a bit of product stuff but its either on the main site or its still client confidential. Watch this space
